Believe me when I say I have tried just about every method for making and preparing breakfast sandwiches. We eat a lot of breakfast sandwiches in our house and love that they’re an easy meal to take on the go—but we don’t always have time to cook fresh ones every morning.
So I’ve spent a lot of time preparing breakfast sandwiches in large quantities, freezing them, and then testing out the best ways to reheat. But I’m picky about how they come out and most methods fail (the oven takes too long, the microwave makes them chewy, etc.)
Needless to say, I was thrilled when I finally discovered the absolute BEST way to prepare and reheat breakfast sandwiches—all thanks to my new air fryer!
I recently bought the CRUXGG 9qt Flex Basket Air Fryer, which is part of a fantastic new CRUXGG line at Target. Though I’m late to the air fryer game, I have finally jumped on board and am excited about all of the possibilities.
This model is big enough to fit a lot more than the typical air fryer, and even has a divider so you can air fry two different types of food at once. You can even adjust different settings on each side, making it a great option for a big family (or someone who wants to avoid using the oven!)
The air fryer crisps up the pre-made breakfast sandwich perfectly, so it tastes just as good as a freshly made version. This discovery is certainly changing our busy mornings!
I picked up all of the ingredients for my breakfast sandwiches at Target. And I’m sure it goes without saying, but Target is obviously one of my favorite places to pick up everything I need for my family, from groceries to cute sweatshirts or home decor. I’ve been shopping in their grocery section a lot lately and I’m always impressed by the quality of the ingredients I find!
Here’s what I got for these quick, simple, and tasty breakfast sandwiches:
These breakfast sandwiches come together quickly and can be stored away for those days when you don’t have the time or energy to think about what to make. Here are the steps:
1. Slice English muffins open with a knife.
2. Sprinkle shredded cheese in the mini waffle maker, then top with one egg. Cook for about 2 minutes, until the egg is set. Repeat until you have enough for each sandwich.
3. Top each sandwich with the egg/cheese and Canadian bacon.
4. Assemble each sandwich, then cool completely. Wrap in plastic wrap and store in a gallon-sized bag. Keep in the freezer until ready to eat.
5. When ready to eat, unwrap the sandwich and place one half in each side of the CRUXGG 9qt Flex Basket Air Fryer.
6. Cook in the air fryer at 375 degrees for 6-8 minutes, then enjoy!
As a self-declared breakfast sandwich snob, trust me when I say you’ll be happy with the way these breakfast sandwiches turn out! They’re easy to prepare in bulk and taste great when reheated using the air fryer.
And since I’m a newbie when it comes to cooking with the air fryer, I’d love to hear your suggestions on other fun ways to use it! Share your suggestions in the comments or tag me @homeandkind on Instagram!
