Easy Oven-Baked Tacos with Walmart+

This year I’m trying to be more consistent with weekly meal planning—and actually sticking to my meal plan! Obviously, it’s much easier to accomplish this when I have plenty of go-to, quick recipes that my whole family enjoys. So I’m excited to share my meal ideas as I come up with them this year.

Today I’m making a tried and true family favorite: easy oven-baked tacos. They come together quickly, don’t require any fancy ingredients, and I can get everything I need for them delivered right to my door using my Walmart+ membership ($35 order minimum. Restrictions apply.).

Why I Love Walmart+

If you haven’t tried the Walmart+ membership yet, you need to. I have tried a LOT of delivery/pick-up grocery services in my day, and Walmart+ is definitely the best! Nothing compares to the ease, affordability, and time-saving benefits of Walmart+.

Walmart+ has all of the same fresh groceries you can get in-store, without a markup in price OR delivery fee ($35 order minimum. Restrictions apply.). While you do want to tip your driver, you don’t have to pay any additional fees on top of that. In my opinion, tipping someone a few dollars to save me TONS of time is 1000% worth it.

I simply add things to my Walmart list on the app throughout the week, then the groceries show up on my doorstep whenever I decide to schedule the delivery. I really love it and I think you will too!

How to Make Our Favorite Easy Oven-Baked Taco Recipe

This recipe is a great way to make a big batch of a meal that all of my kids love. After browning the meat, I add pinto beans, fill the taco shells in the baking dish, top them with cheese, and bake them. Once they’re done, everyone can add whatever toppings they want and we’re all happy!

Here’s how to make them.

  1. Add one pound of ground beef and one can of drained, rinsed pinto beans to a large skillet.
  2. Break apart the meat and smash the beans until the meat is fully cooked.
  3. Add one packet of taco seasoning, then stir to combine.
  4. Line up the crunchy taco shells in a baking dish. (I like to buy the taco shells with a flat bottom, which are easier to stand up in the dish!)
  5. Sprinkle the tacos with cheese, then spoon in the meat mixture. Top with more cheese.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Add your toppings of choice. We like tomatoes, shredded lettuce, avocado, pickled onions, sour cream, salsa, etc.

Enjoy Your Weeknight Dinner Made Easy

It doesn’t get easier than these oven-baked tacos. I love that they get a crispy, gooey texture that you can’t get when you just put the meat in a taco shell right out of the box. Plus, you don’t have to spend time assembling tacos for the little ones in the family—everyone can just dig in!
