Easy holiday treats

Between the school parties, gift-exchanges, and family gatherings, the holidays are such a fun—but BUSY— time. If you’re like me, you’re always looking for quick and easy treats to take to any number of events during the holiday season.

Fortunately, I’ve come across a couple crowd-pleasing, easy treat ideas that a win every time! They’re inexpensive, quick to put together, and everyone loves them. Dare I say that one of them is even pretty healthy?

I’ve teamed up with Walmart to introduce you to two easy holiday treat recipes to try this season. Walmart is always my go-to spot for affordable grocery staples and everything else I need to get ready for the holidays, including decor, gift-wrapping supplies, and gifts. And I love that I can save time by choosing grocery pickup or delivery with Walmart+—it’s a game-changer!

So without further ado, here are two of my favorite easy holiday treat ideas!

1. Chocolate-Covered Mandarin Slices

These chocolate-covered mandarin oranges are great for holiday parties. They’re allergy-friendly (No nuts! No gluten!) and likely to be the most healthy option compared the offerings on the table.

Ingredients:

Chocolate-covered mandarin slices

Here’s how to make them:

  1. Peel clementines and pull apart segments.
  2. Heat semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave. Stir every 30 seconds until they are smooth. (Don’t over-heat, or they will get dry and crumbly!)
  3. Dip clementine segments halfway into melted chocolate. Place them on a silicone-lined baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle segments with flaked sea salt immediately after setting down on the baking sheet.
  5. Let set in the fridge until fully hardened. Then enjoy!

2. Pretzel Turtles

Do you love that salty/sweet combo? Me too! This treat satisfies both cravings at once and always pleases the chocolate-lovers in the crowd.

Here’s how to make them:

  1. Spread butter snap pretzels on a baking sheet.
  2. Top each one with an unwrapped Rolo.
  3. Bake at 250 degrees for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Press a pecan half into each melted Rolo.
  5. Let chocolate set in the fridge or freezer.
  6. Heat white chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  7. Scoop melted white chocolate into a piping bag by placing a sandwich baggie in a small cup, then spooning the white chocolate inside. Seal the bag and cut a small opening in the corner.
  8. Drizzle the white chocolate over the pecans.
  9. Let the white chocolate set in the fridge or freezer, then enjoy!
