Do you have a bunch of DVDs laying around? I know everything is going digital, but I’m not quite ready to throw out the hundreds of DVDs we’ve collected over the years. So I decided it was time for an organization revamp.
First, I went through all the DVDs and removed duplicates to donate (I was surprised there were actually several of these) and got rid of any that were too scratched for use.
Then, I bought a couple large CD media cases and removed all the DVDs from their plastic cases to put into the new storage solution. I didn’t go too overboard with ordering everything (I knew if I took the time to organize alphabetically it would last about 5 min). But I did put all the animated kids shows, holiday movies, church films, romantic comedies, etc together so that things would be easier to find.
This was such a simple organization project that saved a TON of space.

Hi cousin. So funny… I have been googling DVD storage ideas for the last month or so because all our DVD’s are driving me crazy. I told my mom I was going to put them all in a case and she told me you just did a post on the same thing. Quick question, did you buy the cases that fit 136 dvd’s or the bigger one?
Hey Melissa! So I bought 2 cases that each fit 136. That left us a good amount of empty spaces, but I like having one for all the kids movies and one for everything else.
