Our camping chair review is finally here, just in time for summer!
We all know what a bummer it can be to sit in an uncomfortable, cheaply-made camping chair. So we set out to try out 17 different chairs to figure out which ones are the best bang for your buck.
We tried budget-friendly chairs, expensive chairs, hammock chairs, backpacking chairs, and everything in between. Putting all of these together was a LOT of work, and I wouldn’t recommend it! The backpacking chairs were especially tedious to assemble, but thankfully, we’ve done the tough part for you!
Now, without further ado, here are our camping chair favorites!
The Kijaro Camping Chair is super wide, tall, and roomy. It has the perfect amount of recline, while still being supportive. You don’t really sink into it too much! The cup holders are large enough for any water bottle — even a 40-ounce Stanley! There is a carrying strap both on the chair and bag, so if you need to take it without the bag, it’s still easy to tote around.
The Embark Camping Chair has a comfortable seat, a higher back, and two cupholders. It’s super lightweight and would be perfectly comfortable to sit in for a whole soccer game — or two! At $24.99, you really can’t beat it!
If you’re looking for a roomy, big and tall chair, the ALPS Mountaineering Chair is it! Justin sat in this chair for two hours without any complaints. It has a high back, wide seat, and is a little more heavy-duty than your average chair. FYI the weight limit is 800 lbs – so you’re most definitely set! It also has two large cupholders that can fit a water bottle or can. Carry it on your back or on your shoulder!
The Moon Lence Collapsible Camping Chair was pretty easy to put together and collapse. It’s the most substantial of any collapsible chair we tried, and would be a good option for backpacking or when you have limited space.
We couldn’t forget about the little ones for this camping chair roundup! The Portable High Chair from Amazon is a great option for taking on the go, whether you’re visiting family, having a picnic, or camping. It’s super lightweight, easy to set up, and has more than 20,000 rave reviews!
The Firefly! Kids Camping Chair has cute colors and branding, and it’s sturdy too! Win-win. These chairs are great to have around for sports games, beach days, etc. They’re lightweight enough that kids can carry them on their own!
Sometimes you want something more than a basic camping chair. And in that case, the KingCamp Hammock Camping Chair delivers. This chair is comfortable and well-made, although it doesn’t have quite the range of a regular hammock. It’s a little more cumbersome to put together and carry, but if you take it camping, it might just be the hot item around the campfire!
The GCI Rocker Chair takes the standard camping chair to the next level. It gently rocks and is so comfy and relaxing to sit in. It has a nice little cupholder and is easy to store away and set up. Add in a campfire and you’ll never want to get up!
These chairs didn’t necessarily win any awards from us, but they might be worth considering! Here’s what we thought about the rest of the chairs we tried:
Hopefully, you’ve found at least one or two camping chairs on this list that fit the bill. Maybe you’re looking for a Father’s Day gift, a chair to get you through summer sporting events, or a chair to take on your next camping trip. In any case, we found quite a few chairs that are all-around comfortable, high-quality, and relatively affordable. Enjoy!
