When it comes to tablescapes, I’m all about simplicity and impact. I love using an inexpensive drop cloth to create a classic tablecloth. Then I add contractor’s paper over the drop cloth (which is thicker and wider than regular kraft paper). The paper can be customized with names, designs, drawings, or prompts to write thoughts like I added for our Thanksgiving table.
Placing pens out by the prompts encourages guests to jot down their thoughts.
Simple white dishes (mine are from Ikea), layered with white cloth napkins, keep the table looking clean and really showcase the delicious food placed on them. I also loving using tall mason jars for cups to add a rustic feel. Greenery from your yard adds a great anchor to the center of the table. I also like to get some inexpensive flowers, cut them short, and place in various mason jars to arrange around the greenery. Mini pumpkins and candles also variety and depth to the centerpiece.
Did you spot my slippers in the photo above? 😉
A great addition to your Thanksgiving tablescape (and one the kids will love to help with) is these Oreo Turkeys.
