As the school year draws to a close, it’s time to think about giving an end-of-year gift to teachers. After talking to many teachers through the years, I’ve realized that what they TRULY want … what they REALLY want … is money or a gift card. Not that they don’t appreciate other gifts (they do), but allowing them to purchase exactly what they want/need is always going to be the best gift. Teachers often use their own money to buy supplies for their classroom, so this is a nice way to pay them back for all they’ve invested throughout the year.
I’ve also learned that teachers really appreciate a thoughtful card. Getting (most) of my kids to write a note like that is not easy, but I’ve found that when they have prompts to fill out on the card, it’s SO much easier.
This year I kept it super simple and bought a package of my favorite high-quality chocolates, a Target gift card, and created this prompted thank you note. It makes for the perfect combination of a sweet treat, thoughtful message, and gift card.
