The Fourth of July is one of my absolute favorite holidays, and I love celebrating every year with a patriotic fruit pizza!

Of course, there are many fun Fourth of July recipes out there, but I love that this one is really easy and requires minimal baking time. Summers are HOT in North Carolina, and this flag pizza just requires a few minutes in the oven.

You can arrange the fruit in any pattern you’d like, but I think the flag pattern is fun—and easy to arrange, too.

This patriotic fruit pizza can serve a crowd and is perfect for barbecues, swim parties, and other weekend festivities!

Ingredients for Patriotic Fruit Pizza

Cookie Crust Ingredients:

  • Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 egg
  • Zest of 1 lemon
Ingredients for cookie crust

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 Tbsp butter, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • Juice of ½ lemon
Ingredients for fruit pizza frosting

Toppings:

  • Blueberries
  • Strawberries or raspberries

How to Make Patriotic Fruit Pizza

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine all cookie crust ingredients in a large bowl and mix until evenly combined.

Line a 10×15” baking sheet with parchment paper.  Pour in cookie crust ingredients and press with spoon or fingers into an even layer (TIP: dip back of spoon or fingers in flour to prevent sticking).

Bake for 15-18 minutes until slightly browning on the edges. Remove from oven and let cool completely.

Combine frosting ingredients in the bowl of a mixer and whip until light and fluffy.  Spread on cooled cookie crust.

Add blueberries for the stars of the flag and sliced strawberries for the stripes.

NOTE: You can prep the cookie crust and frosting in advance, but wait to assemble until right before you eat. Bake the crust and cover it, whip up the frosting and store in an airtight container in the fridge, and wash and dry the fruit. Frost and layer with fruit right before serving.
