Today I’m sharing the easiest, tastiest waffles (that could easily be considered dessert!)
This recipe is inspired by the waffles I would go to great lengths to get during my college study-abroad in London. They were the sweetest, most dessert-like waffles, and I definitely had more than my share during my semester there! This led me to the idea of putting cake mix in the waffle maker. And here we are!
Your whole family will love these, either for breakfast or dessert. You can even go all out and top them with ice cream for an ultra-decadent treat. (This is the way my family loves to eat them!)
Making cake mix waffles couldn’t be easier. Simply pick up your favorite boxed cake mix and prepare the ingredients as instructed on the box. I chose Betty Crocker yellow cake mix, which called for oil, water, and three eggs. Just mix it in a bowl and you’re ready to go.
Then, instead of putting the cake into a pan, pour the batter straight into a hot waffle maker. I love my mini Dash waffle maker, but recently upgraded to the Dash no-drip waffle maker and it makes four waffles at once instead of just one—game changer!
When the waffles are done, plate them up and top with butter and syrup OR ice cream. Choose your own adventure!
And that’s it! A delicious waffle treat that comes together in just a few minutes, with ingredients you probably have on hand.
We love these waffles in our house, and I’m sure you will love them too! I’d love to see how you put your own twist on them. So tag @homeandkind on Instagram if you give them a try!
