Pack Your Own School Lunch Printables

The thought of packing your kids lunches for school every weekday can be overwhelming and exhausting.  Last year, I started enabling my kids to pack their own lunches and it's been a game-changer.  But in order for this system to work, it's critical to set them up for success.

To teach my kids how to pack a well-rounded lunch, I created these labels and put them on on baskets filled with options.  They go through the checklist and pick something from each category.  It only takes them a couple minutes and I don't have to do a single thing!

I do stock our freezer with "main dish items" a couple times a month so that the kids can pull from that.  See my tutorial for making these main dish items here.

You can clear out some space in kitchen cabinets or your pantry to create these school lunch baskets.  Print out the labels and attach them to the baskets to make it super simple for your kids!

Once your kids get into the habit of packing their own lunch, it will be a quick and smooth process.  I make sure my kids know that the items I purchase for school lunches are off-limits, except when they're packing their lunch.  That way, they last a lot longer.

I like to hang out on Instagram and share more in-depth tutorials on everything I'm make, create and organize.  So, come be a part of our Home & Kind Instagram community!
