We had so much fun with our $10 family date night at Target! This idea was inspired by a date I went on a few times in college—we split up into couples and got $10 to buy ingredients for one course of a meal. Then we all went back to someone's house to cook the meal and see how it all came together.

Our family date night had similar rules: We split into two teams (boys vs. girls) and each got $10 to buy ingredients and $10 to buy a game to play after dinner. Then we set a timer for 10 minutes to purchase everything and make it back to the checkout!

The girls were in charge of the main dish and the boys tackled the dessert. We all had a great time looking for creative and affordable ingredients that could be paired together to make something delicious. And since we were at Target, it was fairly easy to do! We made it out right on budget and right on time.

We ended up making some tasty huevos rancheros cups for the main dish and had ice cream with hot fudge and bananas for dessert. Then we played Clue and Connect 4. The whole family loved it!
