Subscriptions make a really fun holiday gift, because they’re not just a one time item! They are something to look forward to each month for the following year. Two of my favorites subscriptions for kids are the Highlights magazine and Kiwi Co activity crates.

It will give you a $40 credit after you make your first purchase (if you just sign up on the Rakuten website you only get a $10 credit). You do have to be a new user to get the credit (aka new email address). You’ll only be able to take advantage of one of these deals, so choose which one you’d like to try, and follow the directions below.

Highlights

Once you’ve created your Rakuten account, type “highlights” into the search bar. Press the red “SHOP NOW” button and you’ll be taken to the Highlights website.

At this point, you just want to make sure you add at least $40 dollars of subscriptions/product to you cart (before shipping charges) so you quality for the $40 bonus credit. I added a 12 month Highlights subscription for $29.64 and a Hidden Pictures book for $12.99.

Kiwi Co

Once you’ve created your Rakuten account, type “kiwi co” into the search bar. Press the red “SHOP NOW” button and you’ll be taken to the Highlights website.

Kiwi Co offer crates for ages 0-104, so there’s something for everyone! Select the crate that corresponds with your kids ages. I chose the Atlas Crate, which was for ages 6-11. When you select a 6-month subscription and use the code SNEAKPEEK, it will take your total from $111 to $79.95,

If you only select a 3-month subscription and use the SNEAKPEEK code, it will take your total under $40, and then you won’t qualify for the $40 bonus credit. With the 6-month subscription, you’ll get the $40 bonus credit, and 10% cash back from Rakuten, which means you’ll only pay $5.32 per box, which is a steal of a deal!

Wrap it Up

Finish checking out and you’re good to go! The cash back and bonus credit will show up in your Rakuten account within 24 hours. Rakuten will pay your cash back via PayPal or as a check in the mail, whichever you prefer.
