I know the spring season has just begun, but I’m already preparing my wardrobe for summer! North Carolina gets extremely hot and humid in the summer, and dresses are my favorite way to stay cool.
I love that they’re easy to throw on and they still look so put-together. Plus, there’s much cooler than even a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. They give better air-flow and are nice and loose for those scorching summer days.
So far, I’ve collected 7 great dresses that you can find online right now. And I’m sharing them with you all today!
For reference, I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a small/size 4 in dresses, or a medium if I want it a little looser. Now here are my top 7 dresses for hot summer weather!
This Gap denim popover dress is already a front runner for my favorite summer dress! It’s a little shorter, meaning it will definitely be one of the coolest option for hot days. I love that it’s loose and light fabric, and it’s on sale at Gap right now!
Sometimes it’s well worth it to splurge a little on clothing, and this dress is proof! This puff sleeve midi dress from Boden is so well-made, I know it will last me for many years. The sleeves dress up a more casual fabric, and the cinched waist is flattering and comfortable. The calf length is flattering and great for active mom life!
This is one of the dressier options on my roundup, but it’s still casual enough for everyday wear. It has a unique stretchy cotton fabric that’s breathable and comfortable. I love the gingham patter, puff sleeves, and ruffle at the bottom!
This is another comfy, cozy T-shirt dress that will be a staple in my wardrobe this summer. It’s a longer calf-length that makes it easy to run around at the park or lift things without worrying about your dress hiking up. I love the ribbed crew neckline and the stretchy fabric.
Amazon can certainly be hit or miss for clothing, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this dress! It’s nice and lightweight and I think it’ll be great for summer. It’s stretchy, has pockets, and the top is nice and loose. I think it would flattering on a lot of body types, since it can be worn at the natural waistline or lower.
For those days you want to live in your pajamas, this T-shirt dress is the perfect remedy! It really does feel like a nightgown, but it’s acceptable for wearing out and about. Win-win! I sized up in this dress and ordered the “tall” version to add some length and ensure it was nice and loose.
Last but not least is this Uniqlo midi dress. I love turning to Uniqlo for great basics, and this dress didn’t let me down! It’s loose and flowy, has great pockets, and is made from a super high-quality fabric. I’ll be wearing this one on repeat!
And that rounds out my list of 7 best dresses for hot summer weather! I know I’ll be wearing all of these dresses on repeat this year. I hope you found a winner to add to your wardrobe, too! Happy shopping!
